Turning ordinary concrete into extraordinary concrete!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why polished concrete?

Polished concrete is fast becoming one of the most popular options for both commercial and residential flooring. It is not only aesthetically pleasing, it is also very hard wearing giving years of trouble free service. With no grout lines to try and keep clean, this seamless floor provides a dust and allergy free environment.

Can all concrete be polished?

Yes, almost all concrete whether old or new can be polished. Although some surfaces due to damage or surface problems may be better handled with a topical coating such as Polyurethane to give a pleasing result.

How do I clean polished concrete?

Polished concrete is best kept clean with regular dust mopping and light wet mopping using a PH-neutral cleaner.

How long does polishing take?

Concrete polishing is done in a few stages with time for chemicals to set between steps. So most average-sized works around 50 m2 usually take around 4-5 days to complete. Repair work and areas with a lot of edging can add extra time to complete the works.

When can a new slab be polished?

There are a lot of factors which contribute to a slab being ready to grind such as water content, weather conditions during curing, slow curing etc. Around 3 to 4 weeks is generally the safest option.
